Snowcrystals.com:
"This site is all about snow crystals and snowflakes -- what they are, where they come from, and just how these remarkably complex and beautiful structures are created, quite literally, out of thin air."

Fantastic pics, many of them pretty large (not skimpy little web-sized ones.)

Uplifting story: Man loses 400 lbs with hard work and dedication

December 22, 2007 - 06:29 PM

Four and half years ago, David Smith weighed more than 630 pounds. He had spent nearly a decade on the couch in his parents' house eating pizza, raiding the fridge, and drinking soda. For much of his life he said he "felt like the elephant man."

Today Smith is enjoying life and the inspiration he gives others. His remarkable transformation didn't happen overnight. It took more than two years of total dedication; tears of disappointment and grins of glory. Yet his new body is not his greatest gift. It's friendship ? something Smith never dreamed he'd know.
It's a really inspiring story. Video included...

American Thinker Blog: Kyoto Schmyoto

December 21, 2007 - 10:13 PM

Interesting stats about carbon emissions worldwide:
"One would think that countries that committed to the Kyoto treaty are doing a better job of curtailing carbon emissions. One would also think that the United States, the only country that does not even intend to ratify, keeps on emitting carbon dioxide at growth levels much higher than those who signed.

And one would be wrong."
Between 1997 and 2004, our rate of carbon emissions growth was less than 1/3rd of the average rate for countries that signed the protocol.
