Bleah
June 24, 2006 - 06:16 AM
Been sick for several days now... haven't made it in to work but thanks to the miracle of the in-tar-web, I can work from home while I've got a low-grade fever and a nasty sore throat.I repeat: bleah.
Went to the doctor yesterday; I don't seem to have strep (according to the 5-minute test) but just in case, she gave me a script for antibiotics. (There must be some bacteria in there I don't want, mustn't there?) I just may take 'em.
Oh, and my blood pressure is a little high. 130 over 80. I figured I'm way too young to worry about those things, until she reminded me: "Well, you are 37." Dang...
So, time to take a look at the diet and probably start exercising.
As a side note, one benefit of being LDS is that you can answer all of the normal health questions really well:
Smoke? No.
Drink? No.
Drugs? Advil.
Coffee? Nope. ("Wow")
Yah, she's really impressed now!
Exercise?
Dang.
So I'm going to get my cholesterol checked some time soon, and set up an appointment for a physical later this year.
Okay... a few interesting items:
If I could write like this, I wouldn't need to work at a bank. I enjoyed it enough to read it twice. I need a good laugh these days.
Next, an interesting way to paint your ceiling. (Or a very clever photoshop). I didn't completely get it until I saw the priest. Freaky. Via Make.
Lastly, a recommendation on a blog to add to your newsreader or favorites: The Dilbert Blog, by Scott Adams. He occasionally talks about the strip, but mostly it's his thoughts on life, news, etc. Regular blog stuff - only funnier. Do read.
